The NGO Council of Alberta is growing!
With the frequency of disasters growing a strong network is crucial to support those residents impacted by disaster.
MEMBERSHIP CRITERIA
Membership on the NGO Council is open to any not-for-profit Non-Government organization which meets the following criteria:
- They are not affiliated with any government or government organization
- They wish to cooperate with other disaster relief organizations and will subscribe to the “Guidelines for Cooperation”
- They offer one or more social or heath services to individuals, families or the general public to meet a legitimate disaster relief need
- They agree not to proselytize victims of disaster to any organization, religion, form of belief or cause
- They offer services at no charge to the end user, however depending on the scope/duration of an event a member agency may negotiate cost recovery with municipal or provincial government bodies
PROCESS
- An interview will be conducted with either the Chair or Co-chair or both
- Upon completion of the interview your interest will be presented to the NGO Council Membership for consideration
- Once accepted, you will provide a short biography of your organization, a primary and secondary contact (if available), and a logo
